Cake Marbré Très Moelleux
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water
Instructions
- Prepare the oven and pan:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch (23x13cm) loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream the butter and sugar:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla:
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients:
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Prepare the chocolate batter:
- In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder with the hot water to form a smooth paste. Take about one-third of the batter and stir it into the cocoa mixture until well combined.
- Layer the batters:
- Spoon half of the vanilla batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Add spoonfuls of the chocolate batter on top. Pour the remaining vanilla batter over the chocolate layer. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect.
- Bake the cake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. If the top is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
- Cool the cake:
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve:
- Slice and serve your very moist Marble Cake. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.
