- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 1 can (14.5 oz or 400g) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken Wings:
- In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken wings and toss to coat evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Bake the Chicken Wings:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Arrange the marinated chicken wings on the wire rack in a single layer. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- While the wings are baking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
- Add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened. Season with salt to taste.
- Combine the Wings and Sauce:
- Once the wings are done baking, add them to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the wings evenly with the sauce.
- Serve:
- Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
- Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
